Shanghai, China (March 18, 2008) - “Plantweb digital plant joint laboratory center” jointly established by Emerson Process Management and East China University of Science and Technology has been opened formally on campus of East China University of Science and Technology. The “Plantweb digital plant joint laboratory center” which was jointly established by Emerson and East China University of Science and Technology is a combination of the technology of automatization, computer, web telecom, and advanced manufacturing. That is also the integration of multi-professional knowledge and technology, which presents the thinking of industrial automatization development, and also reflects the enterprise spirit of Emerson that help the construction of China automatization science, impulse the professional talent education thus support the healthy development of the industry by Emerson’s international resource and advanced technology.

The 6 sets of DeltaV controlling system and relevant equipment of instruments and valves donated by Emerson are valued more than one million RMB. They will be used to control a simulating experimental device, which could implement multi-controlling solution including multilevel liquid controlling, fermenting tank controlling, electrically heating controlling, gas pressure, etc. This controlling system has adopted the most advanced technology currently in the world such as live bus mastering etc. After the lab established, it will serve the course of process testing, process autocontrolling and so on for the students in the Automation Department. The students could further understand the theory knowledge and improve the ability of practice and touch the cutting-edge technology through the experimentation. These experimental equipments could supply a platform for researching new theory and developing new technique and product for East China University of Science and Technology. It is also a indication for East China University of Science and Technology that it owns a international advanced process controlling automatization laboratory, furthermore, their level of teaching and researching have been improved further.
