Emerson Sees Energy Efficiency as a Key Business Driver in Thailand
Bangkok, May 17, 2007 – Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR), confirmed its strong support for the Thai Government’s energy saving program for air conditioning and refrigeration equipment at the Property & Facilities Management Congress 2007 held in Bangkok.
The Thai government wants equipment manufacturers and consumers to adopt high ‘Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) products. Emerson is continuously introducing new technologies that are more energy efficient into the Thai market.
Mark Dunson, Vice President of Marketing, Emerson Climate Technologies Asia, says “the latest HVAC technologies enable significant energy savings which lower operating cost and help to protect the environment. These new technologies also play a key role in adding value to the real estate segment by improving end user comfort and reducing maintenance costs. Emerson’s innovative solutions such as Copeland Scroll™ compressors and Flow Controls allow air conditioning producers to design more energy efficient products”.
With Thailand’s booming economy, the real estate and other relevant industries have surged with high-tech trends. Sophisticated building designs lead to increasing demand for the latest HVAC technologies, which bring clear benefits in terms of total cost of ownership, energy efficiency, customer experience and aesthetic aspects. Emerson Climate Technologies’ world leading Copeland Digital Scroll™ technology offers multiple advantages to developers, property management companies, as well as the end users, including application flexibility, simple system design, high EER and better reliability.
Copeland Digital Scroll technology has been adopted by air conditioning manufacturers in Thailand and around the world demonstrating a reliability rate of 99.996 percent, which makes it an obvious choice for critical applications. It also operates seamlessly between 10 percent and 100 percent capacity, the widest range in the industry. With a broad capacity range, Copeland Digital Scroll technology has fewer start ups and shut downs, resulting in a more quiet and energy efficient operation. Copeland Digital Scroll™ technology also keeps room temperature within ±0.5ºC, ensuring a comfortable temperature at all times. With these advantages, it is becoming the technology of choice for demanding residential, industrial and commercial applications.
“In response to increasing demand from both domestic and international markets, Emerson Climate Technologies has expanded the production capacity in Thailand from 0.5 million to 1.0 million units in 2006. The expansion demonstrated our continued confidence in the Thailand business environment and especially the great team that we have at our Rayong facility.” Mr. Dunson added.
Emerson Climate Technologies has two scroll compressor factories in Asia, which are located in China and Thailand. The China factory is mainly for the domestic market. The Thailand factory produces and exports to many countries in Asia and around the world.
