Emerson Celebrates Opening of New Leroy Somer Production Facility in Fuzhou

New facility improves support and brings industry-leading solutions to the local market

Fuzhou, December 6, 2007 ? Emerson (NYSE: EMR), officially opened its new Leroy Somer Generator & Electric Motor production facility in Fuzhou today. The new 25960 sq. meters manufacturing plant with around 600 employees, will improve Emerson?s support and bring industry-leading solutions to the market and customers in China and abroad. This initiative represents Emerson?s continued commitment and investment in China.

Attending the opening ceremony were government officials from Fujian Province and Fuzhou, Edward L. Monser, Chief Operating Officer (?COO?) of Emerson, Frederic Lambert, President, Asia Pacific, Emerson Industrial Automation, Claude Henry, President of Leroy Somer, Xavier Trenchant, Vice-President of Leroy Somer ? Alternator Division, Ghislain Boiteau, General Manager of Leroy Somer Fuzhou, Peter Yam, President of Emerson Greater China, Dadong Zhao, General Manager of Emerson China, developers, customers and Emerson employees.

Leroy Somer Electro-Technique (Fuzhou) Co., Ltd is a division of Emerson Industrial Automation, which delivers generators & motors & Drives solution solutions to give its customers the most advanced industrial automation possible. Its new plant is the first to open in the Cangshan YIxu Industrial Zone and will increase Leroy Somer?s manufacturing capabilities in Fuzhou. To meet China?s rising demand for energy efficient equipment, last year Fuzhou became the manufacturing base for a broader range of Leroy Somer products including Wind generators, High efficiency motors and gear motors.
